My FIL died of COPD last year. And despite all the efforts done to lengthen his life, he still didn't make it. He had been in and out of the hospital's Intensive Care Unit nine times already before he finally expired. It was a tough battle. None of us wanted to give up but it was the Lord's will so we have no choice but to let him go.
Well, it has been almost a year since my FIL passed away but my MIL still kept his clothes and some of his medical gadgets such as his portable oxygen tank, pulse oximeter and his nebulizer. She said she will give them away when the need arises but for now, they will stay with her to keep her company.
