I work as a fashion journalist, so I’m highly aware of my image at all times. This not only includes my clothing and accessories, but other aspects of my look like my hair and nails. Although I mainly report on fashion, I’m expected to look the part and knowledgeable on my subject, which is expressed mostly by my outward appearance.
Much of my work requires that I interview small emerging fashion designers and report on new collections and designer collaborations. I was recently at a launch party to celebrate a certain fashion brand’s anniversary when I ran into another fashion journalist that runs in the same circles. We often see each other at these events and have remained friendly over the years. We were talking shop, but I couldn’t hear her that well because of the loud music and crowds. This was kind of obvious and a little embarrassing because she didn’t seem to be having the same trouble.
I was a little worried that she and other people I saw there may have noticed it so I looked up some miracle ear reviews and planned a visit to one of the locations. On my trip to miracle ear I got fitted with some hearing aids that you can’t see, unless you look extremely hard and close.
It’s nice that that’s one part of my appearance that I don’t have to be concerned about.
