How Your Coat Should Fit

Found these very helpful tips from Become.com on how to buy coats this winter. Read on!

With gusts of wind, rain, snow, and cold temperatures during the winter season, we tend to wear our coats every day. For this reason, when shopping for a coat, make sure it fits comfortably. You want to make sure that your everyday coat fits appropriately for better results.

Whether you have a trench coat or a wrap coat, there are certain pointers that you must take into consideration. Here are some useful tips that you must follow on how your coat should fit.

* Coats should never fit too large from the shoulders to waist. But keep in mind a little extra space comes in handy when wearing bulky sweaters or layers.

* If it fits too baggy, it won’t look classy. It should be fitted on top, cinched at the waist so it’s not bunched up, and fall with a slight a-line to the hem.

* When wearing the coat you should feel comfortable and easy to move. When trying on a coat, try to stand up and sit down several times with coat buttoned. Also, often move your arms, shoulders, and elbows so you feel the freshness and size for the coat.

* Coats should only reach to your knee level, if longer than that, it might be difficult to move about.
