How many miles does one walk Christmas Shopping?

It's that time of year again when the malls are full and decorated with all of the Christmas lights and decorations. The kids love the mall because all of the new toys are on display for them to see and play with. The first weekend of December, the local mall has Santa Claus there for the kids to see and they can let him know what they want this year for Christmas. They have their list ready for him and let him know that cookies and milk will be at the house for him and his reindeer.

It is always a long day when we go to the mall. Hours and hours of walking, shopping and eating, but the kids do quite well. We have a routine that morning of a large breakfast to offset eating at the mall, gathering up the Christmas lists, the shopping list and setting the ADT home systems before we go see Santa.

The kids usually pick out their Christmas stockings they want for that year and shop for the grandparents with their own money, or they will find crafty items to make things for other relatives. With all the walking, one can't help but wonder how many miles they actually walk in a day of Christmas shopping.
